These activities are only available to individuals
registered for the Conference. Space is limited for the Fuel Ethanol Workshop
(FEW) activities and will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis. Advance
sign-up is required and please sign up only if you plan to participate. If
your plans change and you find you cannot attend these special activities, be
sure to cancel as soon as possible so your space can be filled. Please indicate
on the registration form which event(s) you would like to participate in.
Transportation will be provided. Please refrain from driving your own vehicle.
Monday, June 16
Ethanol Plant Tour: Please note
location and time change. Dakota Ethanol, Wentworth, South Dakota
11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Dakota Ethanol, LLC was the first of 5 plants
producing 40 million gallons per year built by the Broin Companies. Operations
began in September of 2001 and is a partnership between the Broin Companies and
Lake Area Corn Processors, LLC. Tour includes boxed lunch, transportation and
guided tour. This tour is open to Conference registrants only. Space is limited!
Fee: None
NOTE: No personal vehicles or cameras are
allowed. Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. If you sign up for the
special Ethanol 101 Pre-Workshop Seminar, there is no need to sign up for this
tour: it is included automatically with the Seminar. Biodiesel 101 particpants
will be unable to attend this plant tour as it runs concurrently with the
Biodiesel Seminar time.

Special
Dinner & Entertainment Event: 100th Anniversary of Harley-Davidson
Celebrate the 100th anniversary of Harley-Davidson Motorcycles at J&L
Harley-Davidson, the Midwest’s largest Harley dealer! Bring your Harley or
ethanol-powered vehicle for the Vehicle Showcase. Don’t forget to wear your
leathers for a chance to win the best dressed biker award. Get a tattoo, have
your picture taken on a Harley and enjoy some rock and roll with Mogen’s Heroes.
Be sure to buy your raffle ticket for a chance to win your own Harley-Davidson
leather jacket or a 100th Anniversary Collectors Edition Set. Proceeds from the
raffle support the FEW Ethanol Scholarship Fund.
Additional event
tickets for exhibitor staff or family and friends may be purchased on the
Registration Form. Special Event includes transportation, dinner, refreshments
and entertainment. Transportation will be provided. Please refrain from driving your
own vehicle.
Wednesday afternoon, June 18
Annual FEW Golf Tournament
continues!
Get a Hole-in-One and Win a Harley! This year’s annual
FEW golf tournament will be played at Prairie Green Golf Club, Sioux Falls’
newest, most exciting championship golf experience. Ranked by Golf Digest as the
Best Public Course in South Dakota, this stunning links-style course is
enjoyable for players of every ability. The event will be a best-ball tournament
with a shotgun start at 1:15 pm. Buses will depart the Sioux Falls Convention
Center at 12:30 pm. Rental clubs are available. For more information visit

cart rental, refreshments and prizes. No refunds will be given for

The following
additional Wednesday afternoon activities run concurrently with the Golf
Tournament (Golf participants therefore will be unable to attend):
Trolley Tour of Historical Downtown Sioux Falls 1:00 p.m.
Enjoy
an afternoon in historical Sioux Falls. The tour will begin at Falls Park where
you can enjoy a picnic lunch and then you will have the freedom to hop a free
ride on the Downtown Trolley and tour at your leisure. Take the time to tour the
historic neighborhoods and downtown area of Sioux Falls. Mix in a little
shopping with a treat at Zandbroz, an old-fashioned soda fountain or learn about
prairie life at the Old Courthouse Museum. Discover the Washington Pavilion of
Arts and Science housing the Visual Arts Center with seven galleries of changing
exhibits, including Native American Artists, regional and national contemporary
visual arts exhibitions; and the Kirby Science Discovery Center, fly the space
shuttle, dig up a dinosaur or touch a tornado; for a real experience be part of
the action at the Wells Fargo CineDome, a 60-foot large format theater. Don’t
forget to ride the Trolley to view a triple waterfall at Falls Park. The Falls
of the Big Sioux River, for which Sioux Falls was named, now serves as the site
for a Visitor Information Center with a five story viewing tower. Tour includes
lunch, admission and transportation. Fee: None
Earth
Resources Observation Systems (EROS) Data Center Tour 1:00 p.m.
Ever wonder what some of those high-tech satellites that revolve around the
Earth are actually doing up there? Well, at least one of those satellites, the
U.S. Landsat Satellite, along with a number of airborne mapping cameras, gather
technical and advance forms of geographical and earth science information. Find
out more about changes in the Earth at the EROS Data Center, which is a field
center for many programs and activities of the United States Geological Survey’s
(USGS) National Mapping Discipline. The EROS Data Center is a national
repository of remotely sensed data on the Earth’s land surface. The Center
operates an archive of more than 9 million photographs of the United States
taken from aircraft and more than 4 million worldwide images acquired by sensors
aboard several satellites. This extensive base of earth science information is
used by the scientists at the Center, within private industry, and at government
institutions and universities worldwide. Tour includes lunch, guided tour and
transportation. Photo identification will be required. No personal cars are
allowed. Busses will transport participants from the Sioux Falls Convention
Center. Space is limited! Fee: None
Harley-Davidson
Motorbike Ride 2:00 p.m.
If you are looking for a more
adventurous way to see Sioux Falls, join your fellow Harley-Davidson enthusiasts
on a ride through the city. Led by J&L Harley-Davidson you will have the option
to ride tandem with some of Sioux Falls local Harley riders or ride/bring your
own motorcycle to the convention and join the tour. The ride begins at 2:00 and
will start and end at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. Eyewear is mandatory
and helmets are suggested. Hope to see you there. Fee: None

Ethanol Plant Tour: Glacial Lakes Energy, LLC
Watertown, South Dakota 12:30 p.m.
Glacial Lakes Energy is a
40mmgy dry mill ethanol plant built by Fagen Inc. in collaboration with ICM,
Inc. This high-tech ethanol plant began production in August of 2002. Tour
includes boxed lunch, guided tour and transportation. This tour is open to
Conference registrants only. Space is limited! Fee: None NOTE: No
personal vehicles or cameras are allowed. Please wear long pants and closed-toe
shoes.

Pre-Workshop Seminar will be held on Monday, June 16, for those interested in
learning the basics of ethanol production, the ins and outs of ethanol plant
operations and important factors for building an ethanol plant. The seminar
includes a copy of the New! 4th Edition of the Ethanol Plant Development
Handbook, seminar materials, continental breakfast, lunch and guided ethanol
plant tour of Dakota Ethanol, Wentworth, South Dakota. Please sign up early.

New this year! A Pre-workshop Seminar on Biodiesel
will be held Monday June 16th. This workshop is an introduction to biodiesel.
The workshop will start with the basics but will include enough up-to-date
information to interest those with a technical background. The seminar fee
includes seminar materials and lunch. Please sign up early, space is expected to
fill up quickly. Conference registrants can sign up on the registration form.

NOTE: If you sign up for the special Ethanol 101
Pre-Workshop Seminar, there is no need to sign up seperately for the Monday
ethanol plant tour: it is included automatically with the Ethanol Seminar.
Biodiesel 101 particpants will be unable to attend the Monday ethanol plant tour
as it runs concurrently with the Biodiesel Seminar time.
